Both home and office working. Office working will be within the Parish Office, based in Shedfield.
Salary:
Salary - NJC 19 – 23 (£31,067- £33,366 FTE) depending on qualifications/experience
Hours:
30 hours per week (including evening meetings)
Our council and the role:
Shedfield Parish Council is seeking to employ a Deputy Executive Officer for 30 hours per week to join the parish team who actively support the council members to make a positive contribution to our parish.
The Council is looking for an individual who can work with the Executive Officer to support the efficient running of the day-to-day business and engagement with the residents, businesses, and other organisations.
The successful candidate will be a friendly, enthusiastic, energetic, and confident individual who will also demonstrable capability of:
- working effectively with members of the public, elected members, and key stakeholders
- is highly proficient with the use of Office 365
- previous experience in planning matters is desirable
- flexible and able to attend evening meetings
- is well organised and motivated to achieve deadlines
- the ability to deputise for the Executive Officer

The ideal candidate will have/be:
Educated to GCSE, or equivalent NVQ Level 3 qualification in English & Maths or equivalent work-based experience. |
Once appointed work the opportunity to work towards achieving the Certificate in Local Council Administration (CiLCA). |
General management experience ideally including managing people, projects, assets and property. |
Awareness of financial systems and be proficient in Microsoft 365 |
Competent in using IT systems (including word processing and spreadsheets) with good general IT awareness including using the Internet, websites and social media. |
General understanding of Health & Safety requirements for the Council and the public. |
Able and willing to work evenings and weekends as required. |
