Hybrid Role at the Parish Hall and Home Working, the Parish Hall is located on Trampers Lane, North Boarhunt PO17 6DD

Salary:

Salary: £13.50 – £15.50 per hour (depending on experience) – (£26,325 - £30,225 pro-rata based on 37.50 hours per week)

Hours:

Part-time, approximately 6–12 hours per week (flexible working arrangements available)

Our council and the role:

Boarhunt Parish Council is seeking a motivated and organised individual to serve as Parish Clerk. This is a key role ensuring the smooth running of the Council’s business, compliance with statutory requirements, and effective communication with the community.

Duties will include:

  • Prepare agendas, minutes, and reports for Council meetings.
  • Advise the Council on governance and legal compliance.
  • Manage correspondence and maintain accurate records.
  • Act as Responsible Financial Officer (RFO) or liaise with the appointed RFO.
  • Monitor budgets, prepare financial reports, and ensure audit compliance.
  • Maintain the Council’s website and noticeboards.
  • Serve as the first point of contact for parishioners and external bodies.
  • Support community projects and initiatives.
  • Strong administrative and organisational skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
  • IT proficiency (Microsoft Office, email, website management).
  • Financial management experience (desirable).
  • Knowledge of local government procedures (desirable).
  • Flexible working hours.
