Our council and the role:

We are seeking a talented, hands-on, and qualified gardener to join Newlands Parish Council. You will be responsible for the year-round maintenance and development of countryside areas including sports fields cultivation plots, open spaces ensuring high horticultural standard.

Duties will include:

Key Responsibilities:

Maintenance of lawns, herbaceous borders, and shrubberies. Sports pitches, suds and
rivers, Cultivation Plots, Skilled pruning of trees, shrubs, and roses etc. Plant health care, including monitoring and treatment of pests/diseases.
Operation of professional gardening machinery and equipment.
Adherence to strict health and safety guidelines.
THE GARDENER’S GUILD

The ideal candidate will have/be:

Qualifications: NVQ Level 3 or equivalent required.
Experience: Proven experience working in parks and open spaces and Cultivation plots
maintenance setting. Maintenance of river and suds
Knowledge: Strong plant knowledge and horticultural skills.
Licenses: Full UK driving licence.
Attributes: Passionate about gardening, reliable, and able to work independently or
within a team.
