Hampshire Association of Local Councils; Village of the Year 2026

Hampshire ALC is delighted to announce that the Village of the Year competition is back for 2026, for the first time in two years.

The competition celebrates the communities, organisations and individuals making a real difference across Hampshire’s villages, with awards including the overall Village of the Year title, Best Small Village and other categories shaped around the entries received.

Entries can be submitted by any community body, not just parish and town councils, so please share this opportunity with local groups, village committees, residents’ associations and organisations who deserve recognition.

Shortlisted entries will be visited by the judging panel during August. Winners are announced at the presentation evening, to which all shortlisted entrants are invited, on 23 September.

The closing date for entries is 20 July.
